A Florida doctor is being fined after performing surgery on the wrong testicle of a patient. The Miami Herald reports Tampa urologist Dr. Raul Fernandez-Crespo met with a patient in September of 2019 to have a varicocelectomy to remove enlarged veins. The doctor, who was supposed to perform the procedure on the left testicle, started the operation on the right one. During the procedure, he realized the mistake and began operating on the other one. Fernandez-Crespo was ordered to pay a 25-hundred-dollar fine and other costs because of the mistake.
