A Russian man was filmed falling down with an apparent seizure on a train in Russia in February 2020, with voices telling other passengers rushing to help the man that he had coronavirus. It was later revealed that Karomatullo Dzhabrorv had staged the entire thing as a prank; his lawyer says he did it to raise awareness of COVID-19 and how people should take precautions. He’s been in jail since then, but a judge has now ruled that there was nothing funny about his ‘prank,” sentencing him to two years and four months in a penal colony. Two accomplices that helped stage the stunt were also given two-year terms but theirs were suspended for three years.
