Woman Accidentally Shot And Killed Father While Trying To Stop Fight

Just because you own a gun doesn't mean you know how to use it. Saturday in Minneapolis police were dispatched to an interstate where a major back up occurred due to shots fired. According to witnesses, 42 year old Takesha Deadwyler was driving down the road with her dad, another man, and tow kids 16 and 4. At some point an argument broke out between the dad and the other man where they were slapping and hitting each other prompting Takesha to pull over on the side of the highway. When she stopped, the two men got out and continued fighting, That's when Takesha pulled out her pistol and threatened to shoot the man that was fighting her dad. That's when witnesses heard a single gun shot and the dad fell to the ground. When police arrived, they found one single shell casing next to the victim. Takesha said that the gun accidentally went off while she was trying to separate the two. She's been charged with first and second degree manslaughter and if convicted she can face up to 15 years in prison on the first degree charge.
