A man accused of sexually assaulting a woman moments after she crashed her car is to serve at least ten years in prison. Detectives say truck driver Demetrice Herron, a North Carolina native, was driving through Pennsylvania in October 2018, when he spotted the victim cleaning out her car in a remote lot after a wreck. Herron allegedly made brief small talk with the woman and then forced himself onto her. Police tracked Herron back to North Carolina and were able to match his DNA to evidence collected from the victim. Officials say in light of another violent crime on his record, Herron received the maximum sentence and will be subject to lifetime registration.
