A California man was swindled by a swindler and is now suing for swindling. Mauro Restrepo found Los Angeles based psychic Sophia Adams 's website and decided to talk to the woman about a reading. Sophia bills herself and a "Ph.D. Life Coach" and "psychic love coach". Mauro thought he had the real deal so he felt confident he had a pro, and went through with a reading. She told the man he had "mala suerte" or bad luck put there by an ex-girlfriend when she hired a spell casting witch. She went on to tell the man that his family would be unhappy and in danger unless he paid her $5,100. So, Mauro put down $1,000 as a deposit but said she didn't in any way help with his marriage. He claims he suffered anxiety and sleepless nights, so he is taking the psychic to court, citing intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress along with negligence and civil conspiracy. He's suing her business, her husband, her daughter, and her landlord for her business, saying they all knew she was using her position to take advantage og clients but did nothing to stop her. He's looking for $25,000 in damages.
