A Washington man is in Vancouver Police custody, accused of kidnapping a woman and trying to kill their two-month-old baby. The man was allegedly inside of the woman's apartment threatening to kill the baby with a hammer. Police got the suspect to drop the hammer, but then he started squeezing the baby. A taser had no effect, so officers tried to pry the baby free. When the baby went limp, an officer punched the man in the face and they removed the baby from his grip. The baby remains hospitalized. Thirty-two-year-old Aarondeep Johal was arrested and faces several charges, including attempted murder.
