43 year old Akrum Alrahib lives in Miami now but was one a California resident. While he was there, he would take tobacco products and sell them tax free to others between 2016 and 2017 knowing they would be sold illegally. Doing that deprived the state of the taxes it would have collected. With tier tax rate going from 7% to 65%, that left a $10 million tax bill left of the table. Marshals eventually caught up with the man and now he's locked up on tax evasion.
