Michigan Woman Pleads Guilty To Trying To Have Her Husband Killed

Michigan woman Wendy Lynn Wein pled guilty Friday to trying to hire someone to murder her ex-husband through a website called 'Rent-A-Hitman'. The website is run by a man named Bob Innes, and it’s a fake; that didn’t stop the 52-year-old Wein from writing to a made-up hitman named Guido Fanelli asking him to kill her ex; Innes immediately contacted police, who sent an undercover detective posing as a hitman to talk with her, and then arrested her. In her original request, she said she didn’t want to commit the murder herself because she didn’t want to go to jail. That didn’t work out for her; she pled guilty to charges of solicitation of murder and using a computer to commit a crime with a possible sentence of 108 months in prison. According to Innes, Wein isn’t the first one to be caught by the website; over a dozen others trying to use it to arrange a murder have been arrested in the last few years.
