In California, deputies were driving around patrolling when they spotted a couple in a parking lot fighting. When they pulled up they found 66 year old Alvaro Gamboa and his 29 year old girlfriend Joana Lomeli. Officers went ahead and detained Alvaro, and went to detain Joana when she hopped into her Suburban and took off. She didn't exactly takeoff though...she did a U turn in the parking lot and sped towards the officer and the man hitting both of them. Alvaro was killed at the scene and the deputy was injured. Joana finally did flee the scene but officers were able to find her and arrest her for suspicion of murder and ADW on a peace officer. The deputy is fine, he was treated for an injured leg and later released.
