Police Do Rumor Control Over Sunburned Horse

Police in Florida are trying to squash rumors about a horse with a bad skin condition in Sarasota. Sheriff's deputies say the horse's owner has received unwarranted scrutiny and criticism after photos and videos of the animal appeared on social media. According to police, they were alerted to the horse as far back as October and a veterinarian found he suffers from chronic sunburn that's not likely to get better. Some people have threatened to steal the horse to "save it," but police say he is getting treatment for his sunburn and is otherwise a healthy, working farm animal.
