Once again trolls ruin it for everyone. The Pasco County Sheriff's office has been active on the social media sites for years accepting tips from the public. The agency has some 300,000 followers on Facebook and 131,000 on Twitter. Recently they had to shut down public comments on their pages due to the overwhelming amount of comments coming in, in fear that they might miss some life or death information. This all came down because the social media team they have started posting a lot about missing persons and runaway teens. A lot of the comments were people reporting crimes or leaving tips on social media as apposed to using the traditional method and calling the tip line. Of course some trolls out there would leave negative and hurtful comments, so the sheriff decided to just stop the comments in general. He went on to say "imagine, just for a moment, if it was your loved one that had gone missing and you are desperate to find them but, instead of seeing help, you see commentary on their upbringing, their looks, or the type pf picture that was provided to law enforcement."
