In Michigan, Jeff Sherwood who has been accused of killing his wife was first charged with first degree murder, but now had pleaded down to second degree homicide. It all went down in March 2020 when police acting on a tip searched the home he had shared with his 64 year old wife, Susan. While searching the home police found the body of the woman in the home, and while police were searching, Jeff tried to hang himself in the basement. Police say that Jeff originally told them that they had a murder suicide pact because they feared dying from COVID. He later admitted to them that he had beaten and strangled the woman after she accused him of cheating on her. Medical examiners believe that he had slept with her body for at least a week before she was discovered. After going through a psychiatric evaluation, Jeff has been found competent and will be sentenced next week.
