The head of security at a Florida State University library is facing multiple charges in connection to the theft of thousands of rare comics. Todd Peak had access to one of the four keys to the Robert M. Ervin Jr. Collection, which consisted of superheroes, science fiction, fantasy, and horror comics worth half a million dollars. The library reports items among the five-thousand-comic book collection included Marvel Comics, DC Comics, and pulp magazines predominantly from the 1950s through the 1970s. Peak is accused of peddling the comics via online comic forums and back rooms at comic shops.
