It's been nearly 17 years but a flamingo that escaped from a Kansas zoo has been spotted. Flamingo Number 492 made a break from the Sedgwick County Zoo as a storm moved through the area back in June of 2005. According to reporting from the "Wichita Eagle," Number 492 and another African flamingo split up after their escape, with one heading up north and the other traveling to the Texas Coast, which is where the missing bird was recently spotted by parks and wildlife officials. Experts say flamingos can live to be about 30 years old in the wild.
