Back in 2019, FBI agents started investigating a man named Nathan Nelson after sheriff's in Fargo North Dakota asked for help solving a series of golf cart thefts in the area that started two years earlier. Nate ended up moving to Florida where he was eventually arrested in 2020 for stealing golf carts from a dealership in Georgia. When he was arested they founud preprinted serial number labels and burglary tools. Investigators say that he stole 63 golf carts in seven states worth $283,500. They say he would typically steal them from rural midwestern golf courses, usually at night. He would then sell them for $2,500 a pop. His defense attorney says that he did it because his business was failing and he couldn't pay the bills. He plead guilty in December to interstate
