A Massachusetts DoorDash driver named Sophia Furtado got late deliver call back in February, and when she got to the address listed, she found the customer unconscious, laying on the ground bleeding from her head. Luckily, Sophia had some EMT training and jumped into action. While on the phone with 911, she wrapped the woman in a blanket and used a towel to apply pressure to the wound. The woman stayed in the hospital for three weeks suffering from two severe brain bleeds. The DoorDash driver was presented with a life saving award and a $1,000 grant from DoorDash. She was also offered a discounted rate into an EMT program if she wanted to join.
