A New York City teacher is under arrest after allegedly choking a student. The 45-year-old teacher was taken into custody Thursday on claims that he choked a 12-year-old student in the cafeteria of a Bronx school. Chester Hingle was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and criminal obstruction of breathing. The student was taken to the hospital where they were treated and released. The Department of Education has since launched an investigation and reassigned Hingle away from the school. It remains unclear what led up to the incident, but if convicted, Hingle could face prison time.
