A paramedic is facing charges for allegedly punching an elderly patient in Polk County. Bartow Police yesterday arrested Matthew Mullins for felony battery on a person over 65. Police say back in March, at the Bartow Center, Polk County Fire Rescue was treating a 67-year-old man who became combative and had to be restrained in a gurney. At that time, Mullins allegedly put his knee on the man's chest and punched him in the face. Police say Mullins' actions were completely uncalled for since they weren't medically necessary or done in self-defense.
