A 12-year-old boy was caught on surveillance video holding up a Michigan gas station with a 9mm pistol. In the video, the boy waits his turn in line, then pulls the pistol and says, “Put the money in the bag,” to which the cashier replied, “Are you serious?” He was, and fired a round into the ceiling of the store to prove it. The cashier gave him a moneybag from the safe and orders him to “Get out!” The child was picked up by police just a few minutes later; he was charged with armed robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon, and discharge of a firearm. The boy reportedly got the gun from his grandfather’s locked gun safe and told police he didn’t do it for the money and said, “he would’ve thrown the money into the sewer.” Authorities say he’s so far given no explanation for robbing the store.
