A single mother in Oahu is warning others of an Craigslist scam that stole thousands from her. Ebony Smith found an ad for an apartment that looked professional and was even in contact with the person who posted it. She paid a deposit with money orders and showed her picture I-D, but the next day the ad had been taken down and the scammer's phone number was disconnected. They took over six-thousand-dollars from her account, and because she paid in money orders she may never get it back. Smith is warning others to never pay with money orders, especially if something seems too good to be true, and to use a trusted realtor, not Craigslist.
