A Texas woman and her daughter are looking for $1 million in damages after getting scalded by water from the manager. According to reports, the two had gone to their local Bell in mid June. After going through the drive-thru twice trying to get their order corrected, they decided to go inside. An employee let them in and locked the door behind them. After a 10 minute discussion about the order, the employee behind the counter refused to make it right and became combative. That's when the manager came from behind the counter and poured a bucket of boiling water on the woman and her daughter. The water hit the young daughter in the face and chest soaking her clothes and burning her, along with hitting the mother in the chest. The two tried to run out the door, but it was locked, and that's when the manage came after them again with another bucket of water but they were able to escape. They ran to the car where the daughter stripped down to stop the burning, while the mother went into seizures due to the trauma. As the family was leaving the parking lot, an employee came out of the front door laughing, clapping, and taunting the women. The girl ran into the emergency room naked while the mother stayed in the car seizing. When they got the woman into the hospital, her clothes had to be cut off with skin still attached and ended up being life flighted to Dallas for help. The mother ended up suffering severe burns and brain damage due to the 10 seizures she had before getting to the ICU burn unit. The girl suffered burns on her face and chest causing discoloring and blisters the size of softballs. The suit includes negligence on the part of the two employees along with Taco Bell's negligent hiring, training, retention and supervision. This particular Taco Bell and the surrounding block is known for having a history of criminal activity causing bodily harm to patrons.
