This past Saturday, 58 year old Diane Hawk needed to get somewhere and thought it would be a great idea if she hopped in her golf cart and drove over there. Typically ok if you're in a lake community, but Diane took the interstate instead. A trucker spotted Diane on the highway and saw her pass out behind the wheel. That's when she carefully guided the cart to the shoulder and took the keys before cops got there. When police arrived, they say Diane smelled of alcohol and had trouble giving them her ID, she first gave them a restaurant card, then a credit card. When asked why she was on the highway, she said she needed to get to a state road. They tried to get her into a squad car, but she refused until she got her purse. When officers looked in her purse they found an open bottle of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Fire. Diane tried to resist but was eventually taken in and charged with DUI and resisting without violence.
