A Maine State Capitol Police officer is lucky he isn't hurt and maybe lucky to be alive after a falling airplane part just missed him. The six-to-seven-pound steel sleeve smashed into the ground outside the main entrance to the Capitol last Friday afternoon. An officer who works as a screener at the building was walking less than ten feet from where the part fell. The FAA is investigating and says the part is "likely from a large airliner on an international route."
