Mother\Daughter Duo Ran 13 Year Credit Card Scheme

Greed will get you every time!! 61 year old Karan Geist and her 33 year old daughter Alyssa Geist recently pled not guilty to charges of grand theft, fraud and other charges Over the past 13 years the two racked up $850k in credit card charges using some 14 different credit card companies. According to reports, it started with Karan, but she eventually got her daughter involved. The scam was making purchases then reporting them to the creditors as bogus, hence getting the money put back on the card and keeping the spoils. $205k was put on an American Express, and $155k was put on a Chase card, along with many others. The two would take luxurious trips to Paris, Milan, Costa Rica, and other places. They rented cars, bought watches and handbags, even simple things like dollar store purchases and vet bills. Karan's home was raided in 2021 and that's when they found more than 100 receipts reported as fraud. As is stands, the two have been released on supervision until their next hearing in September, and their passports have been confiscated.
