Cell Phone Flies Out Of Amusement Rider’s Pocket And Gives Girl Head Injury

This is why you don’t bring cell phones on amusement rides. A teen is hospitalized in Oklahoma City after being hit by a cell phone while waiting in line for their first ride at the Oklahoma State Fair. Rebecca Gillespie was hit after the phone came flying out of the pocket of someone already on the ride as it was flipped upside down. Gillespie suffered a traumatic brain injury. Doctors say the impact from the phone was like a small missile or flying object hitting at a high rate of speed and could have killed her. State Fair officials say rides are clearly marked with signs that say no cell phones allowed.
