Early in the morning last week, a North Carolina man was approached by a stranger in his driveway. According to reports, the man says he got out of his car in the driveway, and as he was walking towards the door when 67 year old Vernon Wilson confronted the man with a gun. Vern tried to force his way into the house but the home owner wasn't having it. After a bit of a struggle, Vern fired his gun at the man grazing his chest, and the man was able to slam the door on Vern. Vern ran off but left a glove at the scene which happened to have a finger inside. Police used that to figure out who the assailant was and arrest him. Vern was charged with first degree burglary, ADW with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, and felon in possession of a firearm. Luckily, the home owner was not injured and Vern is in jail.
