A 23-year-old New Zealand man so fascinated with police, he decided to catfish a police officer on a dating app. Besides the police officer, Tyler Tetera, 23 at the time, convinced 2 other individuals to buy him iPhones, a car, and even sex with one of the accusers. Tetera convinced an officer, after posing as a female officer, to hand over his squad car to help plant a listening device, stating 'she' was part of an undercover unit. Tetera then posed as a colleague of the female officer to receive the car. Tetera had the car for over 4 hours and even convinced the victim to hand over the car a second time. The accused was easily bored as a reason to why he did it. He was sentenced to 3 years on eight of the chages.
