27 year old Malik Smith went into his local Mobil gas station which also houses a smoke shop, and decided to jump up on the counter before destroying a display case and pulling a light fixture out of the ceiling. Employees called the cops but Malik left before they got there. As officers were reviewing security footage, the owner saw Malik come back, and identified him to the officer. The officer gave some verbal commands to which he ignored and sped off to the other side of the parking lot, then revved his engine and crashed through the entrance of the gas station. The two officers jumped out of the way but Malik swerved and hit one of them in the arm with his mirror. Later that evening, a separate officer en route to another call saw Malik on the roof of a vehicle dancing and pointing at passerby's. That officer tried to do a traffic stop, but Malik wasn't having that either. He then sped off to a 7-Eleven parking lot and started walking into the store. With the officer still outside, Malik finally came out of the store and walked to his car ignoring officers commands yet again. That officer took Malik to the ground in attempts to apprehend the man, and while on the ground was bitten in the thigh by the criminal. The K-9 was then released and Malik took off resisting the pepper spray used to stop the man. The dog eventually took him down after Malik was tased, and they were able to cuff the man. He was double cuffed and taken to the hospital before heading to jail.
