Millionaire Gets Car Stolen In Tinder Scam…And It Gets Worse

Here’s story that proves even millionaires have some rough times. Mike Vallejo is a self-proclaimed tech millionaire out of the Portland, Oregon area. Mike had a marriage “on the skids,” and opted for a younger woman name Lauren, who eventually invited him to be a part of a threesome deal with another woman named Haley. If you’re going to rebound, that’s the way to do it, right?

When the ladies were out of town, Mike decided to “distract” himself by joining Tinder…and got “15 matches within the first 12 hours.” One of them was from a woman named Ky

  • Before deciding to get together, Ky started messaging Mike with questions like, “Do you want to get a hotel?,” “How will you pay?,” and “Can you pull out cash instead?” If Mike were thinking right, he would’ve seen these as red flags…but he didn’t.
  • During a late-night meal at Denny’s, Mike realized that Ky didn’t look at all like her Tinder pics, and he’d been “catfished.” On the drive to drop her off, Ky said she needed to pee outside by a bush. She was gone way too long, so he got out in the rain to look for her. When he got back in the car, she returned a few minutes later, and two men came to the passenger side window with weapons demanding his wallet, watch, and for him to get out of the car. The two guys then got into the car…with Ky…and drove off. Mike had been Tinder swindled.

When Mike when to the cops, they were suspicious of his story, thinking it was really a “drug deal gone bad,” but still investigated it. Eventually, Mike, with the help of Lauren and Haley, found a woman named Kylee Keim on Facebook that could’ve been the girl he went out with…so Mike forwarded it to the cops. After writing about what was going on Instagram, another man, named Chase, offered his services to help catch the thieves, even though he had a criminal record, claimed to be a police informant (which he wasn’t), and “wanted to make things right in the world by helping people retrieve their cars.”

One day after the car was stolen, cops had enough info to set up a sting operation. Mike and Chase were able to get a meeting place set up with the alleged perpetrators, and when they arrived, they saw his Jaguar. As you might have guessed, things then got completely messed up, and the thieves tried to make their escape in the Jag and a Cadillac. Eventually, the Caddy got into a wreck, and the Jag ended up down an embankment and was totaled.

Insurance eventually gave Mike a new car, but he opted for a Corvette rather than a Jaguar, because of the bad juju attached to it. Mike continued to date Haley but had “fallen out of love” with Lauren, who’s now said to be a stripper…and may’ve made off with Mike’s debit card info to buy clothes. Mike says he was swindled again…but Lauren denies it.
