An officer at Green Haven Correctional Facility in Dutchess County, New York has not returned to the job after an inmate threw a dumbbell at him. Officials say it was Saturday morning when the inmate was carrying the 25-pound dumbbell from the yard and threw it at the officer. The officer blocked the dumbbell but was taken to Vassar Brothers Medical Center for pain in his left hand and finger. The 31-year-old inmate was reportedly in prison for the second time for weapons possession.
