A bride and groom leaving their wedding reception in South Carolina, on a golf cart were hit by a car, leading to the woman's death, according to police and the family. According to police, a vehicle rear-ended a golf cart. There was a driver in the car and four people in the golf cart, police said. Police said one person in the golf cart died and the three others were injured. A GoFundMe page organized by the groom's mother said family members were escorting the couple from the reception when they were hit from behind. The page states, "The golf cart was thrown over 100 yards and rolled several times. It says the new groom is in serious condition and has had one of two reconstruction surgeries, numerous broken bones, and a brain injury. The page said the two others were also injured, one seriously.
"I was handed Aric’s wedding ring in a plastic bag at the hospital, five hours after Sam placed it on his finger and they read each other their vows," the groom's mother wrote on the page. "Aric has lost the love of his life."
The driver of the car, Jamie Lee Komoroski, 25, was arrested and charged with three counts of DUI involving significant bodily injury or death and reckless homicide, according to the Charleston County Detention Center website. She is being held with no bond.
