A Florida woman is facing charges after reportedly hitting her boyfriend's nine-year-old dog with a rubber mallet. Twenty-four-year-old Elizabeth Jaimes is accused of repeatedly hitting the husky named Maya, leaving the dog blind in one eye and with fractured ribs. Deputies say the boyfriend and her mother noticed Maya started receiving the injuries last August, around the same time Jaimes moved in. After placing a hidden camera in the house, they discovered the alleged abuse. Police say Jaimes admitted to hitting the dog because he had growled at her. The husky is currently recovering at home.
