Twelve people were hospitalized over the weekend after a public pool in Texas was over-chlorinated. Police say the exposure happened Saturday afternoon at a lazy-river swimming pool in Houston. Fire Chief Samuel Pena [[ Pen-Nyuh ]] said at least seven children and multiple adults were hospitalized from "an over-chlorination in the pools." An investigation into how the pool became over-chlorinated is ongoing. While the patients' exact conditions are unknown, common side effects from chlorine over-exposure can include burning of the eyes, nose, and throat.
