A man is in custody after agents say he tried to bring parrots into the U.S. It happened at the San Ysidro Port of Entry earlier this month. U.S. Customs and Border Protection say a 26-year old man tried to smuggle 13 yellow-headed parrots. CBP agriculture specialists found the birds hidden in two duffel bags in the trunk of the man's car. Agents says the animals are considered endangered. U.S. Fish and Wildlife placed the parrots in quarantine to make sure they don't contract any diseases. The man was taken into custody by Homeland Security investigators.
