San Diego County Sheriff's Department has arrested a woman for trying to sneak a drug-soaked letter to an inmate. Officials say 45-year-old Misty Vantine was arrested Friday in the parking area of the George Bailey Detention Facility in Otay Mesa. Deputies at a jail mail-processing facility discovered the letter August 23rd. They say the letter was intended for an inmate and appeared to have been drenched in some type of liquid. A chemical test showed the stationary was infused with liquid methamphetamine. Vantine was booked into Las Colinas women's jail in Santee on suspicion of sending an illicit drug to a jail facility, trying to sell a controlled substance to an inmate and criminal conspiracy.
