A woman from Northern California had to have all four of her limbs amputated a month after eating undercooked fish. Last month, 40-year-old Laura Barajas bought a Tilapia from a market in San Jose and cooked it at home. She landed in the hospital fighting the effects of a pathogenic bacteria and later doctors had to remove both of her arms and both legs in an effort to save her life. Earlier this month, the CDC issued an advisory about Vibrio vulnificus infections due to increasing water temperatures. A man in Texas died after eating oysters with the same bacteria over Labor Day.
