Back in November of 2022, a couple identified only as John & Jane Doe went to Washington State to visit their daughter who was in college and to celebrate Jane's birthday. While there, the couple stayed at the Ritz-Carlton's Half Moon Bay. They say everything started off right, but one night they ran out of bottled water and called the front desk for more. A short time later, a male employee delivered at least 5 bottles of water and left. The couple had no reason to believe the bottles were tampered with. Later that night, Jane woke up needing a drink, so she opened one of the bottles and noticed the taste and texture were off. She initially thought it was chemical contamination before she started to suspect it was semen. IN January of this year, a claims adjuster told them over the phone that the bottle was defiled with semen. Their lawsuit claims one of the employees put his love juices into the bottle of water and delivered it to the couple's room where Jane drank the liquid before she realized she was sexually assaulted. The couple says the hotel refuses to turn over the bottle of water for examination and that the Sheriff's office has stalled because of that. The couple wants law enforcement to do their own DNA analysis and cross reference it to any potential sex offenders and help identify any suspects. The couple claims the hotel chain gave them reward points when they first raised concerns, and now they are seeking damages through a jury trial.
