Marijuana users say it helps them get a good night's sleep more than medications. Washington State University helped lead a study that compared marijuana to sleep aids like melatonin or benzodiazepines. More than 80 percent of pot users say smoking joints helped them get better sleep. 60 percent got six to eight hours of sleep. While for people using sleep aids alone, or sleep aids and cannabis, 20 percent got six to eight hours of sleep. About a third of participants used edibles and 14 percent use capsules with THC.
