Ian Robbie Day, was on holiday in Thailand. Having the “time of his life,” Day reportedly kept “extending his vacation” by asking his family back in England to keep sending him money. Eventually, the party-fund ended, so Day allegedly did the next logical thing…he faked his own kidnapping by convincing friends to “pose as masked gangsters” and “beat him up,” with the goal being to “ask his family for ransom money.” His family saw the photos and notified police, and that’s when Day probably realized that he neglected to factor the involvement of Interpol into his master plan. When cops found Day, he was said to be in the middle of a “two-day drug binge with three other foreigners.” They were all arrested and will likely be deported.
