A mother in Kansas City, Missouri has been arrested and charged in the horrific death of her one-month-old baby as she allegedly put the baby in an over instead of a crib. Mariah Thomas, 26, has been charged with first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, which is a Class A felony. When police responded to a call about an unbreathing infant, they noticed burn marks on the child. Thomas allegedly said she was putting the child down for a nap and accidentally mistakenly placed the child in the oven instead of the crib. She faces a sentence of 10 years to life in prison if convicted.
