A woman in Pennsylvania is speaking out against a certain “natural” supplement that ended up turning her eyes yellow. Amber Heimbach, 39, developed liver damage just two months after taking the herbal supplement called black cohosh to help relieve menopause symptoms. However, the stuff was so rough it ended up turning her eyes yellow and left her “looking like Marge Simpson” after jaundice set in.
After realizing it was time to get checked out at urgent care, docs discovered Heimbach had an enlarged gallbladder and even informed her she may need a liver transplant. Heimbach ended up avoiding the transplant and vowed never to touch the stuff again. Black cohosh, by the way, has been the subject of health warnings around the world due to its toxicity to the liver.
