South Carolina is hiring a financial firm to investigate a one-point-eight-billion-dollar mystery. AlixPartners will be looking into the nearly two-billion dollars that ended up in a state account with no information on where it came from or where it was to be allocated to. So far, state officials have been unable to solve the mystery, leading to the decision to pay the firm three-million dollars to get to the bottom of it.
