In New York, an MTA worker wanted a vacation so much that he lied to his bosses about “getting slashed” while on the job…and even cut into his own hand to pass it off. Henry Herring says his goal was to “have the summer off because it was too hot down there.” Herring was hired a year ago as a transit cleaner and was suspended once the hoax was revealed. He’s also been arrested for “falsely reporting an incident” after saying his cut was the result of being attacked.
