Now here's someone who pulled off the Norman Bates scheme for 19 years for some big bucks.
A woman in Florida was recently arrested for failing to report her mother's death and instead impersonated her mother for 19 years in order to receive surviving benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs. Her father served in the military and after he died, the benefits went to the woman's mother. But when she died, the benefits were supposed to stop. The daughter never reported the death of her mother, instead she impersonated her and received nearly $340,000.00 in benefits which she will now have to pay back after serving her prison sentence.
