Accused Dog Killer Says The Hung Themselves

According to reports, police were called to the home of 42 year old Salomon Cruz-Perez Sunday for a disturbance. When they got there, they found two dogs hanging from make shift nooses in his backyard. When they questioned the man, he said that the dogs hung themselves. Authorities say that the dogs were dangling between two trees and that their necks were tied with multiple knots to rope and chain. One of them had a white coaxial cable that secured the neck to the chain it was hanging from. He went on to tell police that the dogs got tied up themselves in the front yard and when he got home from getting food he found them like that in the backyard. He complained that the dogs would make a mess and destroy things in the house. He even accused one of the dogs of trying to kill him. According to Animal Control officials, He tried to surrender two adult dogs and a puppy the week before but when he was told that he'd have to pay a vet to put them down, he decided not to. Three days later the dogs were found dead in the back yard in what the man says was a double suicide. He was taken in for two counts of aggravated animal cruelty.
